The crowd at Tuesday's league match between the Essex Trojans (Tappahannock, VA) and the visiting Lancaster Red Devils (Lancaster, VA), saw Essex's softball squad nip Lancaster by a count of 12-8.

The Trojans now sport a 13-2 record. They take the field next when they host Rappahannock for a Northern Neck match on Thursday, May 4. Essex will face a Raiders squad coming off a 10-0 league win over Westmoreland (Montross, VA). The Raiders record now stands at 14-0.

With the loss, Lancaster falls to 4-12 on the campaign. The Red devils host Colonial Beach (Colonial Beach, VA) to face the Drifters in a Northern Neck match on Thursday, May 4. The Drifters enter the match with a record of 5-4. Colonial Beach won 9-3 in their recent league match against Northumberland (Heathsville, VA)
