The St. John Paul II Lions softball team scored 17 runs and held the host Nantucket Whalers to 12 in the Lions league win on Friday.

The Lions now possess a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Dennis-Yarmouth Regional for a non-league battle on Monday, May 5. St. John Paul II will confront a Dolphins team coming off a 13-7 non-league win over Barnstable (Hyannis, MA). The Dolphins record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Nantucket moves to 1-3 on the season. The Whalers travel to Martha's Vineyard Regional (Oak Bluffs, MA) to confront the Vineyarders in a non-league battle on Sunday, May 4. The Vineyarders come into the battle with a record of 1-4. Martha's Vineyard Regional lost 16-3 in their recent non-league battle against Rising Tide (Plymouth, MA)
