The North Providence Cougars (North Providence, RI) softball routed the visiting Cranston East Thunderbolts (Cranston, RI), 6-0 in Friday's league bout.

The Cougars (7-9) will now prepare for their bout against Lincoln (Lincoln, RI). The Lions go into the Division 2 B bout with a 9-8 record. In their last bout, Lincoln held off Mount St. Charles Academy (Woonsocket, RI), 4-2, in a league bout.

The Thunderbolts now possess a 0-14 record. They play next when they travel to Johnston for a Division 2 B bout on Monday, May 23. Cranston East will confront a Panthers squad coming off a 4-0 league loss to Ponaganset (North Scituate, RI). The Panthers record now stands at 8-8.
