Game Summary

Six days later La Salle Academy finally defeated Bishop Loughlin, 12-10, finishing the regular season at 7-4 and locking up second place in the CHSAA varsity baseball ‘A’ division as they move into the 2025 double elimination playoff tournament. Backstory, the game was originally started on May 21st but had to be suspended in the top of the seventh inning, due to an injury, with the Cardinals leading the Lions 12-9 and with major playoff implications needed to be finished.
Implications aside, La Salle ended the drama, quickly as Anthony Gonzalez took to the mound and after a walk, shut down the Lions with three strikeouts to solidify the standings. In the beginning, Loughlin posted four first inning runs on starter, Allen Gutierrez, meanwhile, La Salle responded with three runs of their own but still found themselves trailing 4-7 going into the bottom of the third.
