Gladwin Flying G's (Gladwin, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Clare Pioneers (Clare, MI), 2-1 in a league challenge.

The Flying G's now own a 20-12 record. They take the field next when they host Coleman for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 23. Gladwin will battle a Comets squad coming off a 13-4 league win over Merrill (Merrill, MI). The Comets record now stands at 18-10.

With the loss, Clare falls to 22-10 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Chippewa Hills (Remus, MI) to battle the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 25. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 2-4.
