Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) fans were thrilled Wednesday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC), 7-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Warhorses face the Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC) in a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge, on Monday, May 8. Owen will attempt to better on its 10-4 season record.

The Vikings now have a 4-11 record. They take the field next when they host Mitchell for a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge on Monday, May 8. Avery County will face a Mountaineers team coming off a 1-0 league loss to Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Mountaineers record now stands at 0-13.
