The Neshannock Lancers (New Castle, PA) softball the visiting Laurel Spartan (New Castle, PA), 8-5 in Wednesday's league bout.

The Lancers (14-0) will now prepare for their bout against Riverside (Ellwood City, PA). The Panthers go into the WPIAL 2A 4 bout with a 2-1 record. In their last bout, Riverside held off Shenango (New Castle, PA), 7-1, in a league bout.

The Spartan now possess a 3-2 record. They play next when they travel to Shenango for a WPIAL 2A 4 bout on Thursday, May 5. Laurel will confront a Wildcats squad coming off a 14-13 league loss to Mohawk Area (Bessemer, PA). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-9.
