Rockbridge County Wildcats (Lexington, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Alleghany Mountaineers (Covington, VA), 13-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 5-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Spotswood for a Valley challenge on Friday, May 5. Rockbridge County will battle a Trailblazers squad coming off a 18-0 non-league win over Staunton (Staunton, VA). The Trailblazers record now stands at 9-6.

In their next game, the Mountaineers clash with the Radford Bobcats (Radford, VA) in a Three Rivers game, on Monday, May 8. Alleghany will attempt to move on its 8-5 season record. The Bobcats come into the game with a 4-9 record after their 8-1 league loss to Floyd County (Floyd, VA).
