Fleming Colonels (Roanoke, VA) fans were thrilled Friday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Lord Botetourt Cavaliers (Daleville, VA), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Colonels face the Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA) in a Blue Ridge challenge, on Tuesday, May 9. Fleming will attempt to better on its 10-3 season record. The Golden Eagles enter the challenge with a 5-7 record after their 4-1 league win over Northside (Roanoke, VA).

The Cavaliers now have a 5-8 record. They take the field next when they host William Byrd for a Blue Ridge challenge on Monday, May 8. Lord Botetourt will face a Terriers team coming off a 2-1 league loss to Franklin County (Rocky Mount, VA). The Terriers record now stands at 4-6.
