The crowd at Monday's league bout between the Elgin Maroons (Elgin, IL) and the host Aurora East Tomcats (Aurora, IL), observed Elgin's softball team notch a victory over Aurora East by a tally of 27-9.

The Maroons (4-16) will now prepare for their bout against South Elgin (South Elgin, IL). The Storm go into the Upstate Eight bout with a 17-4 record. In their last bout, South Elgin gained a win over Elmwood Park (Elmwood Park, IL), 17-0, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Tomcats battle the West Aurora Blackhawks (Aurora, IL) in a Upstate Eight bout, on Tuesday, May 6. Aurora East will attempt to advance on its 1-14 season record. The Blackhawks go into the bout with a 11-12 record after their 12-7 league win over Bartlett (Bartlett, IL).
