Newton Railroaders (Newton, KS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Hutchinson Salthawks (Hutchinson, KS), 15-5 in a league match.

The Railroaders now sport a 11-2 record. They take the field next when they host Maize for a non-league match on Tuesday, May 10.

With the loss, Hutchinson falls to 8-10 on the campaign. The Salthawks travel to Derby (Derby, KS) to face the Panthers in a non-league match on Tuesday, May 10. The Panthers enter the match with a record of 12-0. Derby won 6-5 in their recent non-league match against South (Salina, KS)
