Lake Central Indians (St. John, IN) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Merrillville Pirates (Merrillville, IN), 14-0 in a league challenge.

The Indians now sport a 19-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Valparaiso for a Duneland challenge on Wednesday, May 10. Lake Central will face a Vikings squad coming off a 9-3 league loss to Chesterton (Chesterton, IN). The Vikings record now stands at 4-14.

With the loss, Merrillville falls to 1-17 on the campaign. The Pirates host Chesterton (Chesterton, IN) to face the Trojans in a Duneland challenge on Wednesday, May 10. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 5-13. Chesterton won 9-3 in their recent league challenge against Valparaiso (Valparaiso, IN)
