Rhode Island High School Softball - Ponaganset bounces Lincoln

May 9, 2024: North Scituate, RI 02857

Spectators at Thursday's league match between the Ponaganset Chieftains (North Scituate, RI) and the visiting Lincoln Lions (Lincoln, RI), witnessed Ponaganset's softball squad tip Lincoln by a count of 9-4.

The Chieftains now sport a 10-1 record. They play next when they travel to Scituate for a Division 2 match on Saturday, May 11. Ponaganset will meet a Spartans squad coming off a 21-7 league win over Mt. Hope (Bristol, RI). The Spartans record now stands at 5-3.

With the loss, Lincoln moves to 6-4 on the season. The Lions travel to Barrington (Barrington, RI) to meet the Eagles in a Division 2 match on Friday, May 10. The Eagles go into the match with a record of 2-9. Barrington won 9-7 in their recent league match against Burrillville (Harrisville, RI)
