Van Meter Bulldogs (Van Meter, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Pleasantville Trojans (Pleasantville, IA), 8-3 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 17-1 record. They take the field next when they host Interstate 35 for a West Central game on Tuesday, June 11. Van Meter will clash with a Roadrunners team coming off a 12-3 league win over Earlham (Earlham, IA). The Roadrunners record now stands at 4-7.

In their next game, the Trojans clash with the Albia Blue Demons (Albia, IA) in a non-league game, on Wednesday, June 12. Pleasantville will attempt to improve on its 9-5 season record. The Blue Demons come into the game with a 6-6 record after their 5-1 league win over Centerville (Centerville, IA).
