The Saydel Eagles (Des Moines, IA) softball nipped the visiting Roland-Story Norsemen (Story City, IA), 12-11 in Monday's league bout.
The Eagles (8-7) will now prepare for their bout against Perry (Perry, IA). The Bluejays go into the Heart of Iowa bout with a 5-14 record. In their last bout, Perry was edged by Urbandale (Urbandale, IA), 4-1, in a non-league bout.
The Norsemen now possess a 6-14 record. They play next when they host Prairie City-Monroe for a non-league bout on Wednesday, June 19. Roland-Story will confront a Mustangs squad coming off a 12-1 non-league win over Lynnville-Sully (Sully, IA). The Mustangs record now stands at 15-2.
