Aztec Tigers (Aztec, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Shiprock Chieftains (Shiprock, NM), 7-0 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 9-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Kirtland Central for a 4A District 1 challenge on Friday, June 11.

With the loss, Shiprock falls to 4-8 on the campaign. The Chieftains travel to Rehoboth Christian (Rehoboth, NM) to battle the Lynx in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, June 8. The Lynx enter the challenge with a record of 8-4. Rehoboth Christian won 20-17 in their recent non-league challenge against Thoreau (Thoreau, NM)
