The Johnston Dragons triumphed over the visiting Dowling Catholic Maroons baseball squad by a score of 14-1 in Tuesday's league outing.
Next up, the Dragons battle the Ankeny Hawks (Ankeny, IA) in a CIML outing, on Wednesday, July 9. Johnston will attempt to advance on its 22-11 season record. The Hawks come into the outing with a 14-22 record after their 7-1 non-league loss to North Polk (Alleman, IA).
The Maroons (12-13) will now prepare for their outing against Ottumwa (Ottumwa, IA). The Bulldogs come into the non-league outing with a 22-13 record. In their last outing, Ottumwa was overwhelmed by Southeast Polk (Pleasant Hill, IA), 16-4, in a non-league outing.
