In Friday's non-league battle, the host Germantown Mavericks volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Tupelo Golden Wave.

The Mavericks (4-2) will now prepare for their battle against Clinton (Clinton, MS). The Arrows come into the Class 6 Region 4 contest with a 1-5 record. In their last contest, Clinton beat Florence (Florence, MS), 3-0, in a non-league contest.

With the loss, Tupelo drops to 2-1 on the campaign. The Golden wave travel to Jackson Academy (Jackson, MS) to battle the Raiders in a non-league contest on Saturday, August 12. The Raiders come into the contest with a record of 6-0. Jackson Academy won 3-0 in their recent league contest against St. Joseph Catholic (Madison, MS)
