Oklahoma Union Cougars (South Coffeyville, OK) backers exited the stadium satisfied Thursday as they witnessed their softball team tip the host Nowata Ironmen (Nowata, OK), 6-5 in a league match.
The Cougars (2-1) will now prepare for their match against Vinita (Vinita, OK). The Hornets come into the non-league match with a 2-3 record. In their last match, Vinita nipped Sequoyah (Claremore, OK), 6-3, in a league match.
In their next game, the Ironmen play the Pawhuska Huskies (Pawhuska, OK) in a 2A challenge, on Thursday, August 21. Nowata will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record.
