Pope Greyhounds (Marietta, GA) supporters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad topple the host Sequoyah Chiefs (Canton, GA), 8-0 in a league bout.

The Greyhounds (5-1) will now prepare for their bout against Lambert (Suwanee, GA). The Longhorns go into the non-league bout with a 5-3 record. In their last bout, Lambert knocked off West Forsyth (Cumming, GA), 6-5, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Chiefs clash with the Cherokee Warriors (Canton, GA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, August 16. Sequoyah will attempt to advance on its 2-2 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 2-3 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Creekview (Canton, GA).
