In Friday's non-league challenge, the host St. John's Mavericks volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Ridge Point Panthers.

The Mavericks (3-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Barbers Hill (Mt. Belvieu, TX). The Eagles come into the non-league challenge with a 5-0 record. In their last challenge, Barbers Hill edged Magnolia West (Magnolia, TX), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Panthers meet the Bellaire Cardinals (Bellaire, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, August 15. Ridge Point will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Boswell (Fort Worth, TX).
