The Lumpkin County Indians nipped the visiting Gilmer Bobcats softball squad by a final score of 2-1 in Tuesday's league battle.

The Indians (2-4) will now prepare for their battle against Cherokee Bluff (Flowery Branch, GA). The Bears go into the non-league battle with a 3-1 record. In their last battle, Cherokee Bluff was edged by North Hall (Gainesville, GA), 11-7, in a league battle.

The Bobcats now possess a 3-4 record. They play next when they travel to White County for a 3A Region 7 battle on Thursday, August 18. Gilmer will meet a Warriors squad coming off a 7-0 league loss to Pickens (Jasper, GA). The Warriors record now stands at 4-3.
