Gilmer Bobcats (Ellijay, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lumpkin County Indians (Dahlonega, GA), 5-4 in a league challenge.

The Bobcats now own a 6-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wesleyan for a 3A Region 7 challenge on Tuesday, September 20. Gilmer will face a Wolves squad coming off a 8-3 non-league win over Calhoun (Calhoun, GA). The Wolves record now stands at 15-2.

With the loss, Lumpkin County falls to 5-11 on the campaign. The Indians travel to White County (Cleveland, GA) to face the Warriors in a 3A Region 7 challenge on Tuesday, September 20. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 10-5.
