The Screven County Gamecocks nipped the host Portal Panthers softball squad by a final score of 2-1 in Tuesday's non-league battle.
The Gamecocks (2-3) will now prepare for their test against Statesboro (Statesboro, GA). The Blue Devils enter the non-league test with a 5-0 record. In their last test, Statesboro tipped Southeast Bulloch (Brooklet, GA), 10-9, in a non-league test.
The Panthers (0-3) will now prepare for their battle against Wheeler County (Alamo, GA). The Bulldogs go into the non-league battle with a 2-5 record. In their last battle, Wheeler County nudged Montgomery County (Mt. Vernon, GA), 8-4, in a non-league battle.
