The Houston County Bears (Warner Robins, GA) softball nipped the visiting Colquitt County Packers (Norman Park, GA), 6-5 in Saturday's non-league outing.

The Bears now sport a 3-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lee County for a 5A Region 2 outing on Tuesday, August 19. Houston County will encounter a Trojans team coming off a 5-4 non-league win over Lanier County (Lakeland, GA). The Trojans record now stands at 5-2.

The Packers (1-4) will now prepare for their test against Crisp County (Cordele, GA). The Cougars go into the non-league test with a 3-2 record. In their last test, Crisp County was nudged by Crawford County (Roberta, GA), 3-0, in a non-league test.
