Fans at Wednesday's non-league contest between the Purnell Swett Rams (Pembroke, NC) and the visiting Fairmont Golden Tornadoes (Fairmont, NC), observed Purnell Swett's volleyball team top Fairmont by a count of 3-0.

The Rams (4-1) will now prepare for their battle against Richmond Senior (Rockingham, NC). The Raiders go into the non-league battle with a 3-1 record. In their last battle, Richmond Senior achieved victory over Montgomery Central (Troy, NC), 3-0, in a non-league battle.

The Golden Tornadoes now own a 0-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to St. Pauls for a non-league battle on Thursday, August 21. Fairmont will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Terry Sanford (Fayetteville, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-1.
