In Tuesday's non-league battle, the host June Buchanan Crusaders volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Magoffin County Hornets.
The Crusaders (1-2) will now prepare for their battle against Knott County Central (Hindman, KY). The Patriots come into the District 53 battle with a 6-1 record.
Next, the Hornets encounter the Lawrence County Bulldogs (Louisa, KY) in a non-league battle, on Monday, August 28. Magoffin County will attempt to advance on its 0-5 season record. The Bulldogs come into the battle with a 6-1 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Pike County Central (Pikeville, KY).
