Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Cannon County Lions (Woodbury, TN) and the host York Institute Dragons (Jamestown, TN), saw Cannon County's soccer squad prevail over York Institute by a score of 5-1.

The Lions (3-0) will now prepare for their battle against Smith County (Carthage, TN). The Owls enter the A District 5 battle with a 1-2 record. In their last battle, Smith County by Goodpasture Christian (Madison, TN), 2-1, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Dragons confront the Jackson County Blue Devils (Gainesboro, TN) in a A District 5 battle, on Tuesday, August 27. York Institute will attempt to improve on its 0-3 season record. The Blue Devils enter the battle with a 1-3 record after their 4-0 non-league win over Clinton County (Albany, KY).
