North Carolina High School Volleyball - West Caldwell can't hold off Avery County

In Thursday's non-league match, the Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC) volleyball squad tipped the host West Caldwell Warriors (Lenoir, NC), by a count of 3-2.

Next up, the Vikings confront the Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) in a non-league match, on Monday, August 26. Avery County will attempt to move on its 3-2 season record. The Panthers enter the match with a 3-3 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Bunker Hill (Claremont, NC).

The Warriors (0-5) will now prepare for their match against Newton-Conover (Newton, NC). The Red Devils enter the Catawba Valley Athletic 2A match with a 3-0 record. In their last match, Newton-Conover held off North Wilkes (Hays, NC), 3-2, in a non-league match.
