In Friday's non-league match, the host New Brighton Lions football squad scored a good 20-7 victory over the Shenango Wildcats.
The Lions (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Summit Academy (Herman, PA). The Knights go into the non-league battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Summit Academy was topped by Frazier (Perryopolis, PA), 51-0, in a non-league battle.
The Wildcats now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Ellwood City for a non-league battle on Friday, August 29. Shenango will play a Wolverine team coming off a 43-14 non-league loss to Laurel (New Castle, PA). The Wolverine record now stands at 0-1.
