Valley Vikings (Gilcrest, CO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Platte Valley Broncos (Kersey, CO), 13-10 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they host Fort Lupton for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, August 29. Valley will battle a Bluedevils squad coming off a 5-3 non-league loss to Weld Central (Keenesburg, CO). The Bluedevils record now stands at 5-2.

With the loss, Platte Valley falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Broncos travel to University (Greeley, CO) to battle the Bulldogs in a 3A/4A Patriot challenge on Tuesday, August 29. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 5-1.
