The New Hampstead Phoenix (Savannah, GA) volleyball nudged the visiting Burke County Bears (Waynesboro, GA), 2-1 in Thursday's league outing.

With the win, New Hampstead upgrades its record to 6-2 on the year. The Phoenix travel to Woodville-Tompkins (Savannah, GA) to face the Wolverines in a non-league outing on Tuesday, August 30. The Wolverines go into the outing with a record of 3-4.

The Bears now own a 5-3 record. They play next when they host Glenn Hills for a non-league outing on Saturday, August 27. Burke County will face a Spartans squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Davidson Fine Arts (Augusta, GA). The Spartans record now stands at 0-4.
