Mount Vernon Mustangs (Atlanta, GA) supporters left the game thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Social Circle Redskins (Social Circle, GA), 5-4 in a non-league match.

The Mustangs (7-0) will now prepare for their match against Landmark Christian (Fairburn, GA). The War Eagles come into the 1A D-I Region 5 match with a 0-7 record. In their last match, Landmark Christian was nipped by Brookstone (Columbus, GA), 17-3, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Redskins battle the Jones County Greyhounds (Gray, GA) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, August 27. Social Circle will attempt to better on its 7-2 season record. The Greyhounds come into the match with a 10-0 record after their 12-0 league win over Woodland (Stockbridge, GA).
