North Surry Greyhounds (Mount Airy, NC) backers were pleased Monday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC), 3-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Greyhounds (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against North Iredell (Olin, NC). The Raiders come into the non-league challenge with a 2-1 record. In their last challenge, North Iredell beat Providence (Charlotte, NC), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Cardinals meet the North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC) in a Mountain Valley 2A/3A/4A challenge, on Tuesday, August 26. East Wilkes will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 3-3 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC).
