The crowd at Tuesday's league bout between the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA) and the visiting West Hall Spartans (Oakwood, GA), observed Monroe Area's softball team prevail over West Hall by a tally of 17-0.

The Purple Hurricanes (8-2) will now prepare for their bout against Cherokee Bluff (Flowery Branch, GA). The Bears go into the 3A Region 8 bout with a 4-1 record. In their last bout, Cherokee Bluff knocked off Jefferson (Jefferson, GA), 9-1, in a league contest.

The Spartans now hold a 1-3 record. They play next when they host East Hall for a non-league contest on Thursday, August 28. West Hall will face a Vikings squad coming off a 11-10 league win over Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA). The Vikings record now stands at 4-3.
