Next, the Purple Hurricanes clash with the Cherokee Bluff Bears (Flowery Branch, GA) in a 3A Region 8 contest, on Thursday, September 18. Monroe Area will attempt to improve on its 11-7 season record. The Bears enter the contest with a 8-4 record after their 5-4 league loss to Jefferson (Jefferson, GA).

The Spartans now hold a 1-9 record. They play next when they host Chestatee for a non-league contest on Wednesday, September 17. West Hall will face a War Eagles team coming off a 19-0 league loss to White County (Cleveland, GA). The War Eagles record now stands at 4-11.
