The Winn Mavericks held off the host Cigarroa Toros volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Mavericks now have a 13-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Corpus Christi Moody for a non-league test on Saturday, August 27. Winn will confront a Trojans team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Mission Veterans Memorial (Mission, TX). The Trojans record now stands at 5-5.

The Toros (2-4) will now prepare for their test against Weslaco East (Weslaco, TX). The Wildcats enter the non-league test with a 1-4 record. In their last test, Weslaco East was nudged by Donna (Donna, TX), 2-1, in a non-league test.
