Mississippi High School Volleyball - Union edged by Newton County

Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS) boosters left the game thrilled Tuesday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the visiting Union Yellowjackets (Union, MS), 3-2 in a non-league test.

With the win, Newton County improves its record to 16-1 on the season. The Cougars travel to Choctaw Central (Philadelphia, MS) to face the Warriors in a Class 4A Region 4 test on Tuesday, September 3. The Warriors go into the test with a record of 6-9.

The Yellowjackets now own a 17-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Philadelphia for a non-league test on Thursday, August 29. Union will face a Tornadoes squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Eupora (Eupora, MS). The Tornadoes record now stands at 1-5.
