The Newton County Cougars prevailed the visiting Union Yellowjackets volleyball squad by a final score of 2-0 in Saturday's non-league game.

Next up, the Cougars confront the Pass Christian Pirates (Pass Christian, MS) in a non-league game, on Saturday, September 28. Newton County will attempt to advance on its 27-3 season record. The Pirates enter the game with a 11-17 record after their 3-0 league win over Greene County (Leakesville, MS).

The Yellowjackets (26-7) will now prepare for their game against Pearl (Pearl, MS). The Pirates enter the non-league game with a 9-17 record. In their last game, Pearl was dropped by Petal (Petal, MS), 3-0, in a league game.
