In Monday's non-league contest, the Wayne County Yellow Jackets (Jesup, GA) softball team held off the visiting Brantley County Herons (Nahunta, GA), by a margin of 12-11.

With the triumph, Wayne County moves its record to 6-5 on the year. The Yellow Jackets host Burke County (Waynesboro, GA) to play the Bears in a 4A Region 3 contest on Tuesday, August 29. The Bears come into the contest with a record of 4-7. Burke County lost 11-0 in their recent non-league contest against Lakeside (Evans, GA)

In their next game, the Herons play the Toombs County Bulldogs (Lyons, GA) in a 2A Region 3 contest, on Tuesday, August 29. Brantley County will attempt to move on its 4-4 season record. The Bulldogs come into the contest with a 6-4 record after their 7-0 non-league win over East Laurens (East Dublin, GA).
