The crowd at Thursday's league contest between the Cherokee Bluff Bears (Flowery Branch, GA) and the host Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA), saw Cherokee Bluff's softball squad nip Monroe Area by a score of 5-4.
With the triumph, Cherokee Bluff improves its record to 5-1 on the year. The Bears host East Forsyth (Gainesville, GA) to face the Broncos in a non-league contest on Wednesday, September 3. The Broncos enter the contest with a record of 6-3.
The Purple Hurricanes now hold a 8-3 record. They play next when they travel to Jefferson for a 3A Region 8 contest on Wednesday, September 3. Monroe Area will clash with a Dragons team coming off a 10-0 league win over Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA). The Dragons record now stands at 10-1.
