Varsity Opponent (, ) supporters left the game in high spirits Tuesday as they observed their volleyball squad hold off the visiting Pensacola Area Homeschool Phoenix (Pensacola, FL), 3-2 in a non-league match.
Next up, the clash with the MaxPreps C KASCOT (Max, CA) in a Freelance match, on Wednesday, August 30. Varsity Opponent will attempt to advance on its 34-104 season record.

Match Summary
The Varsity Phoenix got off to a good start in their match, and they and the Lady Lions commenced an epic struggle. The Lady Lions came out on top of an emotional game in the end, to the great disappointment of the Phoenix players, coaches and fans. The Phoenix team had a tremendous serving night, passed the ball around well and also scored their most points ever on offense. They had a very successful night playing at the top of the net. Their greatest point of weakness was on serve receive, where they allowed multiple scoring runs by their opponent. Overall, the team looked more comfortable on the court, showing obvious improvement in their fundamentals and in more advanced play.
