Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA) boosters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the visiting Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks (Wellman, IA), 2-0 in a non-league test.

With the win, Mt. Vernon improves its record to 3-0 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Pella (Pella, IA) to encounter the Dutch in a test on Thursday, August 29. The Dutch go into the test with a record of 0-0.

The Golden Hawks now own a 1-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Burlington for a test on Saturday, August 31. Mid-Prairie will encounter a Grayhounds squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Galesburg (Galesburg, IL). The Grayhounds record now stands at 1-0.
