The James Island Trojans volleyball squad (Charleston, SC), was edged 2-1 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Porter-Gaud Cyclones (Charleston, SC)

With the win, Porter-Gaud improves its record to 3-3 on the season. The Cyclones host St. Joseph's Catholic (Greenville, SC) to meet the Knights in a non-league contest on Saturday, August 30. The Knights enter the contest with a record of 0-3. St. Joseph's Catholic lost 3-2 in their recent non-league contest against First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest (Greenville, SC)

In their next game, the Trojans face the River Bluff Gators (Lexington, SC) in a non-league test, on Saturday, August 30. James Island will attempt to improve on its 8-4 season record. The Gators go into the test with a 6-2 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Nation Ford (Fort Mill, SC).
