In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Porter-Gaud Cyclones volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the James Island Trojans.

The Cyclones (15-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Ashley Hall (Charleston, SC). The Panthers come into the challenge with a 5-8 record. In their last challenge, Ashley Hall was nudged by Palmetto Christian Academy (Mt. Pleasant, SC), 3-0, in a league test.

The Trojans now sport a 19-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to West Ashley for a AAAAA Region 8 test on Tuesday, September 30. James Island will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Porter-Gaud (Charleston, SC). The Wildcats record now stands at 10-6.
