In Tuesday's league contest, the Winchester Community Golden Falcons (Winchester, IN) volleyball squad were winner over the visiting Union City Indians (Union City, IN), by a margin of 3-0.
Next up, the Golden Falcons battle the Union County Patriots (Liberty, IN) in a Tri-Eastern contest, on Thursday, September 1. Winchester Community will attempt to better on its 8-4 season record. The Patriots go into the contest with a 4-4 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Connersville (Connersville, IN).
With the loss, Union City moves to 2-7 on the year. The Indians host Tri (Straughn, IN) to battle the Titans in a Tri-Eastern contest on Thursday, September 1. The Titans go into the contest with a record of 0-8. Tri lost 3-0 in their recent non-league contest against North Decatur (Greensburg, IN)
Match Summary
Tonight at the WCHS Fieldhouse, the theme was Hawaiian Night. The gym was filled with Hawaiian shirts, shorts and leis. The Lady Falcons faced cross town rival Union City in a TEC matchup where the Lady Falcons won in 3 - (25-14) (25-13) (25-9). This victory improves the Lady Falcons to 8-4 on the season and 2-0 in conference play. The Lady Falcons once again used their relentless serving; and offensive pressure to keep the Lady Indians on their toes. In the JV match, the Lady Falcons were also victorious against the Lady Indians winning in two - (25-12) (25-20). Thank you to the WCHS student body, community, and fans for a great showing.
The Lady Falcons will be in action again at HOME on Thursday, September 1st in another conference matchup against the Lady Patriots of Union County. The JV match will start at 6:00 pm with the varsity match to follow. The theme is PJ NIGHT. Coach Matt
