The Belfry Pirates held off the visiting Betsy Layne Bobcats volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Pirates now have a 4-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Prestonsburg for a non-league test on Thursday, September 7. Belfry will confront a Blackcats team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Shelby Valley (Pikeville, KY). The Blackcats record now stands at 5-5.

The Bobcats (1-8) will now prepare for their test against Floyd Central (Eastern, KY). The Jaguars enter the District 58 test with a 8-3 record. In their last test, Floyd Central held off Pike County Central (Pikeville, KY), 2-0, in a non-league test.
