Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Royal Falcons (Brookshire, TX) and the host Nimitz Cougars (Houston, TX), observed Royal's volleyball team top Nimitz by a count of 2-0.
The Falcons (2-7) will now prepare for their battle against Sam Rayburn (Pasadena, TX). The Texans go into the non-league battle with a 1-5 record. In their last battle, Sam Rayburn was defeated by Stafford (Stafford, TX), 2-1, in a non-league battle.
The Cougars now own a 6-14 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Humble for a non-league battle on Tuesday, September 2. Nimitz will meet a Wildcats team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over McMullen County (Tilden, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-9.
