Texas High School Volleyball - Vela over Weslaco

Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX) and the visiting Weslaco Panthers (Weslaco, TX), observed Vela's volleyball team top Weslaco by a count of 2-0.

The Sabercats (13-6) will now prepare for their test against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North (Pharr, TX). The Raiders go into the 5A Region IV District 31 test with a 9-5 record.

The Panthers now own a 13-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Los Fresnos for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 2. Weslaco will face a Falcons squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Mission Veterans Memorial (Mission, TX). The Falcons record now stands at 10-7.
