Georgia High School Softball - Franklin County gets by Monroe Area

The Franklin County Lions got by the visiting Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes softball squad by a final score of 5-4 in Thursday's league battle.
The Lions (9-1) will now prepare for their battle against Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA). The Warriors go into the 3A Region 8 battle with a 1-8 record. In their last battle, Oconee County was edged by Stephens County (Toccoa, GA), 6-5, in a league battle.
The Purple Hurricanes now possess a 3-8 record. They play next when they travel to Hart County for a 3A Region 8 battle on Tuesday, September 5. Monroe Area will meet a Bulldogs squad coming off a 2-2 non-league Washington-Wilkes (Washington, GA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-4.
